OCA All-State games set for this week

The annual Oklahoma Coaches Associatio­n All-State games begin Monday and continue throughout the week in the Tulsa area.

The annual Oklahoma Coaches Associatio­n AllState games begin Monday in the Tulsa area, culminatin­g Friday night with the football game at Tulsa Union High School.

Here is this week’s schedule:

Monday

Golf, 8:30 a.m., Cherokee Hills Golf Club, Catoosa

Swimming, 6:30 p.m., Adams Building, Phillips 66 Aquatic Center, Bartlesvil­le

Tuesday

Baseball, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Oral Roberts University

Tennis, 5:30 p.m., University of Tulsa

Volleyball, 6 and 7:30 p.m., ORU

Wednesday

Wrestling, 7 p.m., Sand Springs

Girls basketball, 7 and 8:30 p.m., ORU

Thursday

Boys basketball, 7 and 8:30 p.m., ORU

Friday

Football, 7 p.m., Tulsa Union

Southern Illinois coach to speak

Texas Tech men’s basketball coach Chris Beard was scheduled to speak Wednesday at the annual OCA Coaches Clinic, but due to travel issues he will not attend the event.

Instead, Southern Illinois coach Barry Hinson will speak. Hinson, a Marlow native and Oklahoma State graduate, began coaching at the high school level, including Stillwater, Edmond and Tulsa Kelley. He was also an assistant for Bill Self at Oral Roberts and Kansas. Hinson was also the head coach at ORU and Missouri State.

Other speakers this week include former OSU star Doug Gottlieb and Arkansas women’s basketball coach Mike Neighbors. Several high school coaches across the state will also speak.

Holland Hall’s Gregory narrows choices

Holland Hall star girls basketball player Gabby Gregory is down to her final five college choices.

Gregory announced on her Twitter page Saturday that she will choose from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas State, Missouri and Oklahoma.

A 6-foot senior this upcoming season, she has been instrument­al in leading Holland Hall to the state tournament two straight seasons. Last season, she averaged 31.2 points per game.
