OU to face Auburn; Cowgirls to host Tennessee

Oklahoma will play at Auburn and Oklahoma State will host Tennessee in women's basketball in the 2018 SEC/Big 12 Challenge announced Monday.

The Sooners will play Auburn on Dec. 2. It will mark the first contest between the Sooners and Tigers.

The Lady Vols will pay their first-ever visit to Stillwater also on Dec. 2. Game times are to be determined.

The Cowgirls met 12thranked Tennessee last November as part of the Cancun Women’s Challenge with the Lady Vols prevailing, 79-69. The two teams have met on one other occasion with Tennessee claiming a 69-60 win at the 1992 Rainbow Wahine Classic.

Every team from the Big 12 will participat­e, while 10 teams from the SEC will take part in 2018. The format features five home games on campus sites for each conference. Teams will not face the same opponent twice.

The inaugural challenge was held in 2014. The 10-team format began in 2016. Last season, the two conference­s split the challenge with a 5-5 mark.

UCO begins ticket sales for football season

The University of Central Oklahoma athletics department on Monday began selling single game tickets for the upcoming 2018 football season.

Central Oklahoma football tickets start at $15 for general admission. Reserved seating is $20 and box seats are $25.

UCO's 11-game schedule includes five contests at Wantland Stadium beginning with a matchup against Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.

The Bronchos will also host Northwest Missouri on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m., Central Missouri on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m., Washburn on Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. and Emporia State on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m. For more informatio­n call the UCO Ticket Office (405) 974-2140 or email bronchotic­kets@uco.edu.
