Youth pastor arrested on rape complaints
An Oklahoma City youth pastor was arrested on rape complaints Tuesday after police said he had sex with an underage female student in 2017.
The 14-year-old's mother told police she came home from work about 3 p.m. Tuesday for lunch and found Wilfredo Alexander Flores, 24, hiding in her daughter's closet under a blanket, according to a police report.
The mother told police it was the first and only day of the summer she had left her daughter home alone while she went to work. She had previously told Flores he wasn't allowed in the home if she was not there.
The girl told police Flores, her youth pastor, was unwelcome and had walked into the house after she accidentally left the front door unlocked.
Later, the girl changed her story and it appeared she invited Flores over, according to the report.
The girl told police Flores brought her Chinese food and a flash drive she needed to complete a church project.
The girl and Flores had sex in Sept. 2017, when she was 13 and he was 23, and Flores has called or texted her about 20 times a day since then, according to the report. The girl told police she had tried multiple times to tell Flores to stop contacting her.
About three months ago, Flores made sexual advances toward the girl at a church outing, but she stopped him in "physical rejection," according to the report.
Master Sgt. Gary Knight, a spokesman for the department, said it does not matter whether the girl was a willing participant in the relationship because she is not of age to give consent for sex. By law, the age of consent is 16, Knight said.
Flores was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on rape complaints. He remained there Wednesday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
