OKC records 18 hits in win over Reno
RENO, NEV. — The Oklahoma City Dodgers recorded 18 hits as they beat the Reno Aces 12-9 on Sunday at Greater Nevada Field.
A scoreless tie entering the fifth inning, OKC's Edwin Rios led off with a solo homer before starting pitcher Logan Bawcom laid down an RBI squeeze bunt to make it 2-0.
Reno (58-55) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the inning, but the Dodgers (61-49) responded with four runs in the next frame on four consecutive RBI hits with two outs.
The Dodgers added a pair of runs in the seventh and four runs in the ninth to seal the victory.
OKC's Donovan Solano had three hits, including a three-run homer in the ninth offJoey Krehbiel.
Bawcom earned the win after allowing eight hits and five runs in five innings. The righthander improved to 1-1 on the season.
Saturday’s late game: Aces 5, Dodgers 2
Jake Buchanan tossed 7 ⅔ innings of five-hit ball as the Reno Aces defeated the Oklahoma City Dodgers 5-2 on Saturday night.
Buchanan, who spent parts of three seasons with OKC from 2012-14, held the Dodgers scoreless in his first seven innings.
The Dodgers rallied for two unearned runs with two outs in the eighth inning to end Buchanan’s night. The righthander earned the win and improved to 9-8, while OKC starter Kyle Lobstein fell to 0-2 after allowing nine hits and five runs in 5 ⅓ innings.
