Homeless school offers teacher training
Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma City’s elementary school serving homeless children, is offering training for educators and professionals who work with children living in poverty. The trauma-informed training explains the educational philosophy High Structure — High Love used at Positive Tomorrows.
The two-hour training gives participants a deeper understanding of the daily struggles students living in poverty face and explains how to create a school culture and classroom climate that highlights the importance of routine and support, said Amy Brewer, director of education at Positive Tomorrows. The fee for the training is $100, plus paid expenses for the presenter. To schedule training, contact Positive Tomorrows at 405-556-5082 or structureandlove@positivetomorrows.org.
