Defending champion: Thomas
After dropping two if its first three games last year, Thomas responded by whipping through district play undefeated. The Terriers were dominant on defense, giving up less than 14 points per game.
Returning stars
Kevin Alvarado, DE, Hooker: Alvarado camped out in opponents' backfields for the majority of last season. The 6-foot, 225-pound end recorded 64 tackles, including 22 for a loss and six sacks.
Kade Dillard, QB/SS, Fairview: Dillard missed his junior season after Tommy John surgery but is expected back for his senior campaign. As a sophomore, Dillard accounted for almost 2,000 yards passing, 1,300 yards rushing and 28 total touchdowns.
Zach Selzer, WR/DB, Thomas: The senior starred on both sides of the ball last year. On offense he caught four touchdowns while also recording eight interceptions from his defensive back spot.
Key Matchup: Thomas at Fairview, Week 6
This mid-season matchup could determine all. Fairview is loaded with offensive talent and looking to get revenge for last year's 33-20 defeat at the hands of Thomas.
