A pair of 2019 Oklahoma football commits were upgraded to fivestar recruits this week with Rivals.com’s newest recruiting rankings.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler and wide receiver Trejan Bridges were each upgraded to five-star status by the recruiting service, joining receiver Theo Wease.

Tuesday, the site released its updated Rivals 100 rankings of the top recruits, with Wease moving up to No. 2, behind only LSU cornerback commit DerekStingley Jr.

Rattler is at No. 21, and Bridges is at No. 25 on the list.

Other Sooners commitments on the list were wide receiver Arjei Henderson at No. 34, cornerback Woodi Washington at No. 40 and offensive tackle Stacey Wilkins at No. 56.

No other Big 12 program has a commitment rated five stars by Rivals. Texas’ Jordan Whittington is the highest non-OU commit on the list at No. 31.

The Longhorns also had recruits ranked 65 and

78 on the list, though no other Big 12 program had a commit on the list.

Haughton making push for playing time

Kahlil Haughton has played a lot of games during his first three seasons in Norman, but he’s yet to find consistent playing time.

Last season, he started four games at safety and played in 10.

This season, he’s in a battle with Jordan Parker to be the starter at strong safety.

Defensive backs coach Kerry Cooks said he’s seen a different in Haughton during this camp.

“I see a sense of urgency, I’ll say that,” Cooks said. “He’s playing much faster. He’s playing aggressive. I think sometimes, unfortunately, it takes until your senior year before you realize, ‘Man, this thing went by fast. It’s go time. This is my last year.’

“He’s got all the ability in the world. I think he wants to come out here right now and he’s trying to prove it. ... He’s really made a lot of plays.

“He’s showing up a little bit more consistent in these five practices than I can remember in any fall camp.”
