Edmond Santa Fe’s Love commits to Charlotte
As the season nears, Edmond Santa Fe defensive back Kamron Love can enter with a peace of mind about his future.
Love committed to Charlotte on Sunday afternoon, a decision he announced on his Twitter page.
Love is a 5-foot-11, 150pound senior who had 60 tackles and four interceptions as a junior. For his career, he’s record 69 tackles and five interceptions.
He is also the son of former Oklahoma State and John Marshall wide receiver Sean Love.
Kamron chose Charlotte over offers from Arkansas Pine Bluff, Howard, Indiana State and Navy. He is ranked No. 29 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 rankings of the state’s top college recruits in the 2019 class.
Love is the latest Santa Fe player to commit. Senior offensive lineman Rey Burnett recently committed to Houston Baptist. Star defensive end and linebacker Trace Ford will choose between Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, California, Florida State, Harvard, OSU and Oregon on Aug. 31.
Harrah’s Roberson back at RB
Harrah junior Jeff Roberson just wants to make the playoffs.
After a 2-8 season, Roberson is willing to do anything to make that happen. That starts with moving back to running back in the Panthers’ new Veer scheme.
“I’m back to running back and a lot more comfortable,” Roberson said.
Roberson, the younger brother of Oklahoma offensive lineman Logan Roberson, spent last season at quarterback. He passed for 541 yards and just three touchdowns while throwing 10 interceptions. But he still ran the ball well, rushing for 763 yards and eight TDs.
Harrah opens the season at Anadarko on Friday.
“We just want to make the playoffs this year and have a lot better year than last year,” Roberson said.
