James H. "Jim" Spencer, of Harrah, left this life Aug. 30, 2018, at the age of 82. He was born April 25, 1936, in Harrah, OK to Robert Eugene & Mary Ethel (Dye) Spencer. Jim served in the 45th National Guard for three years from 1958 to 1961. He worked as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Local #124 Sheet Metal Workers Union. Jim moved back to Harrah and owned and operated Spencer's Orchard and Green Houses. He was a member and former president of Oklahoma Fruit Grower's Associatio­n, and in 2008, Jim was voted as the the Green House Grower of the Year. Jim is survived by his wife, Gayle Spencer, of the home; one son, James Spencer & wife Kathy, of Broken Arrow; one daughter, Lori Booth, of Harrah; five grandchild­ren, Kelly Caughron & husband Cliff, Kimberley Szoeke & husband Jake, James Spencer Jr. & wife Emily, Nathan Booth, and Lauren Booth; two great-grandchild­ren, Joseph Szoeke and Luke Spencer; two brothers, Bill Spencer & wife Jan, of Harrah; and Jerry Spencer & wife Brenda, of Harrah; numerous nieces and nephews; and Cleo, his faithful companion. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Debra Kay Spencer; sister, Robbie Dye Mueller; and a brother, Kenneth Spencer. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at Faith Baptist Church in Harrah, interment to follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Harrah.
