Where can you see Uhura, Hellboy and Jason Vorhees all in one place? This weekend it’s at the Wizard World Comic Con in Tulsa.

After a brief stop last year in Oklahoma City, Wizard World returns this weekend to Tulsa, where it held shows from 20142016.

A Wizard World spokesperson said at the time of the announcement that the move was “really based on fan requests more than anything. We’ve really built something there.”

The show has announced a plan to return to Tulsa in 2019, but no dates have been set yet.

Comic-book creators Mike Grell (“Green Arrow”) and Arthur Sudyam (“Marvel Zombies”) are on the schedule for Wizard World Tulsa, as are Tulsa local comics mainstays Equinox Comics. Fans of the TV show “Arrow” may especially want to take a look at Grell’s work, if they’ve previously been unaware of it.

In the 1980s, Grell’s “Longbow Hunters” recast Green Arrow as a serious urban hunter; no longer did boxing glove arrows and silly villains appear in the series. Green Arrow was called “Oliver Queen” or similar throughout the series, making it feel more realistic than most superhero tales. Grell drew the “Longbow Hunters,” as well as wrote the miniseries. He wrote all 80 issues of the mature-readers “Green Arrow” series, and in addition to drawing some issues and painting some of the covers. Grell is also known for his work on “Warlord,” “Legion of Super-heroes” and “John Sable, Freelance” among many others.

This weekend’s show at the Cox Business Center also will allow fans to meet Nichelle Nichols, who played Uhura on the original “Star Trek”; Ron Perlman, the original movie “Hellboy” who also stars on “Sons of Anarchy”; and Kane Hodder, who played the hockey-masked madman in multiple “Friday the 13th” films. Costs for autographs and photo ops can be found at https:// wizardworld.com/ comiccon/tulsa. Threeday admission to the show is $79.95.

Charisma Carpenter, who played Cordelia on “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel,” also is scheduled to attend, as is Billy Boyd, of “Lord of the Rings,” and Brianna Hildebrand, of “Deadpool.” ArtistMostafa Moussa (“Superman”) and animator Tom Cook (“SuperFriends,” “Masters of the Universe”) also are scheduled to attend.

Making the drive up from the Oklahoma City metro area are John Eric Osborn, creator of the “Enigma Machine” comic book series, and artist Michael Garrett.
