HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP Brandt leads Bethany to win in Children’s Center Bowl

Sam Brandt threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another to lead Bethany to a 24-13 win over Blanchard in The Children’s Center Bowl on Thursday night.

Brandt’s first touchdown on a 13-yard run tied the game at 7-7 in the second quarter after the Lions’ Cole Smith scored on a 37-yard romp in the first period.

Ben Lawson on a 39-yard scoring strike and then with Jordan Flinton on a 32-yard touchdown pass for a 21-7 Bronchos’ lead.

Blanchard’s Burke Baily scored on a 40-yard run in the fourth period to trim Bethany’s lead to one touchdown, but the Bronchos’ Jackson Howard sealed the victory with a 20-yard field goal.

Brandt was 11 of 17 passing for 188 yards. He also rushed for 71 yards on 19 carries. Jacob Kyle rushed for 77 yards on 20 carries for Bethany.

Heritage Hall’s Billy Ross returned the opening kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and the Chargers never trailed in blasting Mount St. Mary, 34-2.

It was the first of three touchdowns scored by Ross, who also rushed for 89 yards on eight carries. Ross also had touchdown runs of 5 and 45 yards.

Connor Carey scored two touchdowns, the first on a 32-yard pas from quarterbac­k Robert Mbroh and the second on a 22-yard run.

Mbroh was 10 of 12 passing for 138 yards and one touchdown. Mount St. Mary scored its only points of the game when the Rockets tackled the Heritage Hall punter in the end zone in the fourth quarter.

The Chargers defense dominated the Rockets as Mount St. Mary had minus-8 yards rushing in the game and minus-3 passing. Heritage Hall had 338 yards of total offense.

The Chargers improved to 3-1 on the season. Mount St. Mary fell to 1-3.

Cashion quarterbac­k Griffin Lamb hit Brexten Green with a game-winning touchdown pass as the Wildcats rallied to defeat Christian Heritage Academy, 18-14, on Thursday night.

Lamb scrambled to find Green on a short touchdown toss with just 25 seconds left in the game. Meeker dumps Kellyville

Caden Wolford rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns as Meeker remained unbeaten with a 32-8 win over Kellyville.

Wolford had scoring runs of 62 and 33 yards in the game. Meeker quarterbac­k Jacob Martin also rushed for two touchdowns, scoring a runs of 33 and 6 yards.

Martin was 7 of 13 passing for 104 yards and one score. Martin connected with Dakota Gabbert for a 64-yard touchdown for Meeker’s final score of the game.

Gabbert was the defensive star for the Bulldogs as the safety had eight tackles.

Kingfisher quarterbac­k Jett Sternberge­r threw for three scores and ran for another as the Yellowjack­ets cruised to a 48-0 victory over Blackwell.

Cole Crosswhite rushed for one touchdown and had two scoring receptions. He scored Kingfisher’s first touchdown on a 15-yard run and later caught touchdown passes of 2 and 86 yards.

Kingfisher scored two defensive touchdowns, one an 85-yard fumble return by Cooper Covalt and another on a 71-yard intercepti­on by Clayton Abercrombi­e.

Trey Green had a 19-yard scoring reception from Sternberge­r, who ran for 23 yards for Kingfisher’s last touchdown of the game. Sternberge­r was 10 of 21 passing for 189 yards. Crosswhite totaled 72 yards rushing on just five carries. scored three touchdowns to lead McGuinness to a 56-0 win over Northwest Classen.

Richardson returned a punt 48 yards for the Irish’s first score and then found the end zone on touchdown runs of 39 and 4 yards for a 21-0 McGuinness lead.

Five different players then scored the next five Irish touchdowns in the rout.
