Oklahoma Derby set Sunday at Remington Park

Remington Park will host the 30th annual Oklahoma Derby on Sunday.

In addition to the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby the day features a hat and bowtie contest, the Derby Day Wine Festival and free carriage rides.

The hat & bowtie contest takes place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the Remington Park Clubhouse Level.

The Oklahoma Derby is a top Breeders’ Cup prep race for many of the nation’s 3-year-old horses. In all, the Oklahoma Derby Day program features 10 stakes races worth more than $1.4 million.

A pair of Kentucky Derby horses – Lone Sailor and Combatant - and Louisiana’s Super Derby winner Limation are among 11 horses entered for the 30th edition of the Oklahoma Derby. The first race on Sunday starts at 3 p.m.

OU women's golf hosts Schooner Fall Classic

No. 24 Oklahoma women's golf competes in Norman for the only time this regular season when it hosts the sixth-annual Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club.

The three-day event takes place Friday through Sunday and is free for the public to attend. The 15-team tournament will be played with a par of 71 and 6,046 yards.

All proceeds from the Schooner Fall Classic benefit The Toby Keith Foundation as it enters its fifth year of helping children battling cancer.
