Leadership Oklahoma applicants sought

Leadership Oklahoma, a statewide leadership program, is accepting applicatio­ns for its 2019 Youth Leadership Oklahoma class.

Applicants must be high school juniors or home-schooled equivalent with at least a 3.25 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

Youth Leadership Oklahoma accepts 50 class members each year. The program includes a weeklong journey across the state with the purpose to introduce high school students between their junior and senior years to state leaders, issues, resources and cultural treasures of Oklahoma.

The program dates for the 2019 Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class will be June 2-7.

Completed applicatio­ns must be received no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 5 in the Leadership Oklahoma office, 5500 N Western, Suite 142, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.

UCO plans homecoming events

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma has invited the community to celebrate its 2018 Homecoming themed “Cirque Du Central.”

Homecoming events will begin with a day dedicated to decorating campus and a dodgeball tournament at 6 p.m. Sunday. Other events will include UCO’s annual Distinguis­hed Alumni Awards, inductions to the UCO Athletic Hall of Fame and UCO’s Day of Giving on Tuesday, an all-day event that will focus on raising donations for Ally’s House, a nonprofit organizati­on that provides support, primarily financial, to pediatric cancer families in Oklahoma.

The week’s events will culminate on Oct. 6 with the homecoming parade at 10 a.m. and the football game at 2 p.m. against the University of Central Missouri Mules.
