ACHIEVERS
Amy Brewer, Positive Tomorrows director of education, and Kelly Berger, director of family support, were selected to present at the 2018 Trauma-Informed School Conference in Sacramento, California. The conference is designed for educators, school administrators, school personnel, mental health professionals and parents.
Brewer and Berger will present “High Structure — High Love,” a training developed specifically for educators and professionals who are working with children growing up in poverty. This trauma-informed training explains the educational philosophy “High Structure — High Love” as it is used at Positive Tomorrows, Oklahoma’s only elementary school specifically serving homeless children.
“We are honored to have been chosen, and we are thrilled to share what we have learned through years of working with children experiencing homelessness,” Brewer said. “We look forward to sharing our philosophy and to learning from educators from across the United States.”
“High Structure — High Love” is available to educators and professionals in Oklahoma. To schedule a training, and inquire about fees, contact Positive Tomorrows at 556-5082 or structureandlove@positivetomorrows.org.
