Oklahoma humorist Argus Hamilton will headline the four-day event, which also will include national and regional comedians and a special musical guest.

Hamilton is well known among newspaper readers for his daily syndicated column, now carried in more than 100 newspapers, in which he pokes fun at news and newsmakers. His column appears online, as well, and is read on the radio. He is famous, as well, for numerous television appearances and as the host of the Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

The late comedian and actor Robin Williams once described Hamilton as “the Will Rogers of the Baby Boom.”

Hamilton was born in Poteau and graduated from the University of Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

He will make several appearances during the comedy festival, including the “Argus Hamilton Homecoming” at the Sooner Theatre in Norman.

The musical guest will be Lucine Fyelon, a hip-hop/classical violinist, singer, songwriter and producer. She appeared on FOX TV’s “Showtime at the Apollo” series, and her original song “PoundCake” went viral, racking up more than 21 million views online.

Other comedians include Brandon Vestal, Justin Orgel, Mahesh Kotagi, Gabriela Tijerina, Kelly Brown, Anthony Cavazos and Kelly Flanigan.

The festival is co-chaired by Mike McAuliffe and Orgel, a New York based comedian.
