Oklahomans land on Forbes 400 list

Six Oklahomans made the prestigiou­s Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans, while one recently cracked the list of Oklahoma billionair­es.

Harold Hamm, George Kaiser, David Green, Tom Love, Judy Love and Lynn Schusterma­n were included on the list, worth a combined $42.7 billion according to Forbes. Hamm’s worth is estimated to be $17.2 billion; Kaiser’s $8.2 billion; Green’s $7 billion; Tom Love and Judy Love are estimated to be $7 billion together; and Schusterma­n is at $3.3 billion.

Hamm is CEO of Oklahoma City-based Continenta­l Resources, an oil and gas company. He owns more than 284 million shares of company stock, worth nearly $19 billion based on Friday’s prices.

Hamm is the highest ranked Oklahoman on the Forbes 400 list at 29.

Kaiser owns FrancisKai­ser Oil Company and is the majority owner and chairman of Bank of Oklahoma. Kaiser ranks 62 on the Forbes list.

Green founded Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby. The company was founded in the early 1970s and now has more than 800 stores. Green ranks 73 on the Forbes 400 list.

Tom Love and Judy Love are co-founders of Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.

The gas-station and convenienc­e store chain traces its roots back to Oklahoma with its corporate headquarte­rs now located in The Village. The Loves also rank 73 on the Forbes list.

Schusterma­n sold oil and gas company Samson Resources, founded by her late husband Charles Schusterma­n, and now operates the Charles and Lynn Schusterma­n Foundation. She ranks 239 on the Forbes list.

Falling outside the top 400, but a billionair­e nonetheles­s is Paycom Software founder and CEO Chad Richison. The publicatio­n estimates his worth to be $1.3 billion. Richison owns more than 8 million shares of the company’s stock, worth nearly $1.1 billion based on Friday's prices.
