Express Employment wins honors

Oklahoma City-based staffing agency Express Employment Profession­als has received the Safety Standard of Excellence mark from the American Staffing Associatio­n.

Developed by ASA and the National Safety Council, the program is designed to promote industrywi­de safety best practices.

“ASA congratula­tes Express Employment Profession­als for its commitment to protecting and enhancing temporary worker safety, and for being among the first to earn the Safety Standard of Excellence mark,” said Stephen C. Dwyer, ASA general counsel. “Express has tangibly demonstrat­ed to clients, candidates, and employees its commitment to safety best practices.”

Pharmacist wins national honor

SAND SPRINGS — Jim Spoon has been named Independen­t Pharmacist of the Year by the National Community Pharmacist Associatio­n.

Spoon opened his first pharmacy in Sand Springs in 1979 and has a decades-long history of profession­al leadership and community service. He was a member of the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy for almost 20 years and has held every leadership position at the Oklahoma Pharmacist­s Associatio­n.

The award is given to a pharmacist who exhibits exemplary profession­al leadership, service to community and commitment to independen­t pharmacy, according to the associatio­n.

"We are proud to honor Dr. Spoon for his exemplary service to his community, a quality shared by our nation's community pharmacist­s, and for exhibiting outstandin­g leadership in all of his endeavors," said Rusty Field, CEO of Upsher-Smith, which sponsors the award.
