OKLAHOMA CITY 3 inmates charged with riot offense

Three Oklahoma County inmates have been charged with participat­ing in a riot last month.

The three inmates are accused of breaking out of their cells, confrontin­g detention officers and damaging jail property. They also destroyed four security cameras, ceiling tiles and sprinkler heads, causing flooding, officials said. The damage has since been repaired.

Mario James Normore, 27; Shamar Korin Greer, 19; and Jaleel Green, 18, are charged in Oklahoma County District Court.

During the Sept. 23 incident, Normore tied a shank to his hand while the other two inmates armed themselves with broom handles, officials said.

Normore and Greer currently are jailed on pending murder charges.

Police search for man who recorded girls

Police are looking for a man who allegedly took cellphone video Saturday night of two young girls in a Quail Springs Mall clothing store dressing room, police reported.

About 8 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the PacSun store at the mall in northwest Oklahoma City, 2501 W Memorial Road.

A woman at the store told the girls’ mother that she thought a man was taking video of the girls as they tried on clothes, according to a police report.

The woman asked the man why he was in the dressing room, and the man left the store immediatel­y, police reported.

The man is described as 30-years-old to 40-years-old with a medium build. He wore a green Oakland A’s ballcap, khaki shorts and black, knee-high socks.

Police search for shooter in OKC’s 53rd slaying

A man who was shot and drove himself to a hospital died of the gunshot injury a week later, police reported.

Eugene Kotey, 36, drove himself to OU Medical Center about 2:05 a.m., Friday, Oct. 5, with a gunshot wound. He told police he had been in his vehicle near NE 36 and N Lincoln Boulevard when he was shot.

On Friday, Kotey died of his injury, police reported. No one has been arrested.

The death is being investigat­ed as the 53rd homicide of the year in Oklahoma City.

Man arrested in stabbing, rape of woman

A man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and rape of a woman in southeast Oklahoma City, police reported.

Dayvante Raquan Sterns, 20, was arrested in the Thursday night attack at an apartment in the 4500 block of Sunnyview Drive.

A woman, who is in her 20s, told police she was inside her apartment when a man came to the door and asked to use her restroom. She let him in, and when he came out he attacked the woman and stabbed her in the arm with a steak knife and raped her, police reported.

The woman was able to give police a good descriptio­n of Sterns, police reported.

Sterns was being held in the Oklahoma County jail Monday on complaints of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, rape, forcible oral sodomy and robbery. His bail was $300,000, jail records show.
