OKC man accused of threatening The Oklahoman
An Oklahoma City man has been accused of making threats against The Oklahoman.
Robert Cameron Brewer, 41, was arrested Wednesday on a complaint of threatening to kill by use of explosive.
“Oh, and your building, that’s not going to be there anymore,” a caller said Monday in a profanitylaced voicemail.
The caller identified himself to the newspaper as “Cameron.” The phone number was linked to Brewer, police reported in a court affidavit.
Brewer also is accused of making a threatening phone call in September to the office of Oklahoma County District Judge Cindy Truong.
On Thursday, Brewer was being held in the Oklahoma County jail on $200,000 bail.
“Database checks indicated Brewer has been involved in several violent crimes such as assault and arson, as well as nonviolent crimes such as obscene phone calls, stalking and possession of drugs,” according to the police affidavit.
In 2013, Brewer was put on probation for stalking after he confessed he sent packages to a man’s house in Oklahoma City. Brewer also placed harassing notes and pictures at the man’s home, according to prosecutors.
In 2012, the stalking victim and another man requested protective orders against Brewer. A judge granted both.
Brewer has a history of mental health issues, court records show.
