Minco outlasts Christian Heritage
Minco’s Caedin Addington rushed for 189 yards on 29 carries as the Bulldogs downed Christian Heritage Academy, 40-34, in a see-saw battle on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs’ Wyatt Conley connected with Dayken
Rackley on a 54-yard scoring strike for the first score of the game. Later in the first period, Conley returned a kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown.
Two touchdown passes from Zach Hale to Bridge Bullard gave Christian Heritage a 16-13 lead at halftime, but Minco scored the first two touchdowns of the third quarter and never relinquished the lead.
Addington’s 2-yard touchdown run in the third period gave Minco a 20-16 lead then Parker Winters returned an interception 40 yards for a Bulldogs’ touchdown and a 26-16 advantage.
Bullard scored again on a 7-yard pass from Hale but Minco answered with a 7-yard touchdown run by Jorge Carballo.
Minco sealed the victory on an 18-yard scoring pass from Corvin Burchfield to Calvin Russell in the fourth quarter.
Christian Heritage’s Carson Bullard scored twice in the fourth period, both on 25-yard touchdowns passes from Hale, who had five scoring tosses in the game.
Minco improved to 7-1 on the season. Christian Heritage dropped to 4-4.
Richardson has big night in McGuinness win
Dominic Richardson rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and returned a kick-off 68 yards for another score to lead Bishop McGuiness to 32-7 win over Piedmont on Thursday night.
Richardson also had seven receptions in the game for 68 yards and totaled 211 all-purpose yards.
Junior kicker Zach Schmit booted three field goals for the Fighting Irish from 27, 43 and 27 yards.
Junior Evan Ille blocked two Piedmont punts, including one that resulted in a McGuinness safety.
The Fighting Irish improved to 7-1 on the season. Jones rolls over Henryetta
Jones moved to 7-1 on the season with a 55-0 thumping of Henryetta.
Longhorns quarterback Daniel Jackson tossed two touchdown passes and Lucas Collier ran for two scores. Korbin Cox caught a 48 yard touchdown pass and scored on a 51-yard run.
Jackson was 9 of 13 passing for 178 yards. Dylan Weiher led the Longhorns’ defense with 13 tackles, eight solo.
Jones had 423 yards of total offense compared to 56 yards for Henryetta, which dropped to 1-7 on the season.
