Yukon bicyclist dead in hit-and-run

A man struck by a pickup on Monday has died and police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.

Just after 7 a.m. Monday, police responded to the 14000 block of State Highway 66 on a reported hit-and-run. At the scene, police found Gary Duvall, who had been riding a bicycle along the highway.

Duvall was taken to OU Medical Center in critical condition. He died from his injuries Tuesday morning, police said.

Authoritie­s said Duvall, who was wearing a reflective vest, was riding the bicycle west on the highway when he was struck by a vehicle. Police later found a side mirror belonging to a black Ford F150 pickup at the scene, which is thought to be the vehicle involved in the collision.

Police are asking anyone with informatio­n about the collision to call 354-2553.

Norman police seize meth worth millions

Police on Monday seized more than 1,260 pounds of liquid methamphet­amine during a bust at a hotel.

Just after 9 a.m. Monday, Norman officers were investigat­ing a tractor-trailer in the parking lot of the hotel. Officers searching the rig found what was identified as liquid methamphet­amine inside the passenger-side diesel tank, according to a news release.

Officials said the bust is one of the largest in Oklahoma and that the estimated street value of the drug is thought to be about $4.4 million.

The driver of the rig, Enrique Lara, 36, of Chicago, and a passenger, Jasmine Morales, 21, of McAllen, Texas, were both arrested on complaints of drug traffickin­g, police reported.
