The Oklahoman

3-2-1 KICKOFF

- NATHAN RUIZ, STAFF WRITER

Oklahoma State hosts Texas at 7 p.m. Saturday in OSU’s homecoming game. Here’s what to look for:

3 Players to Watch

Justice Hill: In the Cowboys’ three Big 12 losses, Hill averaged 15.7 carries and 72.7 yards. In their lone conference victory, he received 31 carries and rushed for 189 yards. Rodarius Williams/A.J.

Green: Going up against 6-foot-6 Collin Johnson and 6-4 Lil’Jordan Humphrey in the Longhorns’ passing game, the Cowboys’ corners will be tested. Dillon Stoner: Battling injuries, Stoner hasn’t recorded multiple catches in a game since Big 12 play began.

2 Big Questions

Does Taylor Cornelius play the whole game? Coach Mike Gundy said the Cowboys’ practice reps at quarterback have remained the same, but fans are begging to see Dru Brown or Spencer Sanders. If Cornelius struggles early against the Longhorns, does Gundy make a change? What other surprises are in store? Monday, the Cowboys revealed they will wear 1988 throwback uniforms to celebrate Barry Sanders. Wednesday, special Nike shoes were announced, too. What will Saturday bring?

1 Wild Prediction

OSU’s defense forces three turnovers. The Cowboys’ streak of 33 straight games with a takeaway came to an end in their 31-12 loss to Kansas State two weeks ago. They haven’t forced three turnovers in a game yet this season and did so only twice in 2017. The Longhorns turned the ball over three times in their season-opening loss to Maryland, but they have only three turnovers in the six games, all victories, since.
