Compassion tour
Metro-area residents are invited to visit “The Compassion Experience” at Quail Springs Baptist Church to learn what life is like for children in developing countries.
“The Compassion Experience,” a free selfguided tour, will be offered Friday through Nov. 4 at Quail Springs Baptist Church’s The Hill, 14401 N May Ave. The tour experience will be offered from 11 a.m. to 6:40 p.m. Friday and Nov. 3; and from 9:40 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 4.
More than 700 million people in developing countries live on less than $1.90 per day, facing challenges most Americans never will. Compassion International’s tour is designed to take visitors on a journey into the lives of Compassion-sponsored children living in countries like Uganda, the Philippines, Kenya and Guatemala. Through the use of an iPod, a headset and 1,700 square feet of interactive space, visitors will see the children’s homes, walk through schools and markets, and hear life-changing stories of hope — all from the perspective of a child whose life began in poverty. Visitors are encouraged to make a reservation, however walk-ins are welcome. Groups of 20 or more should email changetour@compassion.com to reserve their space.
