Baylor quarterback Brewer put on concussion protocol
Baylor starting quarterback Charlie Brewer is in a concussion protocol and his status is uncertain for Saturday's home game against Oklahoma State.
Coach Matt Rhule said Monday that Brewer is under a doctor's care while going through the steps of the protocol.
Brewer completed only 1 of 8 passes for 22 yards in Baylor's 58-14 loss at No. 12 West Virginia on Thursday night. The sophomore threw three interceptions and was sacked three times before Jalan McClendon replaced him in the second quarter.
It wasn't clear if there was a specific hit that led to Brewer having concussion symptoms.
Iowa State QB Noland to transfer
Iowa State sophomore quarterback Zeb Noland is transferring after losing the starting job to freshman Brock Purdy.
Coach Matt Campbell
announced on Monday that Noland, who has already used his redshirt season, will leave at the end of the semester.
Noland started five games for the Cyclones, including four this season. Noland threw for 722 yards on 70 of 110 passing, but Purdy has been the spark Iowa State (4-3, 3-2 Big 12) was looking for when he relieved Noland in a win at Oklahoma State three weeks ago.
Senior Kyle Kempt is now
the backup.

Asked Monday to address the reports, Meyer said, "I plan on coaching." Asked if he would definitely return to Ohio State next year, he said, "Yes."
Meyer was brought to his knees on the sideline with a headache during the Oct. 6 game against Indiana. He recovered quickly but said later that the cyst has been causing headaches that can be controlled with medication.
Meyer was suspended for mishandling domestic abuse accusations against a now-fired assistant.

In a statement provided by Illinois, Nickerson said he had to step down now "due to health-related circumstances beyond my control."
