The Oklahoman

3-2-1 KICKOFF

3 Players to Watch

Marquise Brown:

The junior receiver hasn’t been at full health in the last two weeks. He’s recorded just 63 receiving yards in his last two games after tallying 100plus yards in four of OU’s first six games. He could bust out of the mini slump if he’s at full speed Saturday.

Tre Brown:

Starting cornerbacks Tre Brown and Tre Norwood will be tested against Texas Tech’s passing attack. Brown, who clinched a starting spot two weeks ago, has been Oklahoma’s most reliable corner this season. Whichever corner lines up against 6-foot-5 Red Raiders receiver Antoine Wesley will have his hands full.

Kyler Murray:

Kyler Murray might as well be a player to watch every week. Murray has thrown 28 touchdowns against three interceptions for a 227 passer rating that only trails Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

2 Big Questions Will freshman nickelback Brendan Radley-Hiles suit up?

Radley-Hiles was injured in the first quarter last weekend against Kansas State, and OU coach Lincoln Riley called him a “game-time decision.” Radley-Hiles has started every game this season.

How will OU’s defense perform in its first true test since Ruffin McNeill took over as defensive coordinator?

The Sooners were dominant defensively against TCU and Kansas State, holding both to fewer than 300 yards of offense, but that was against two of the worst offenses in the league. Texas Tech is second in the Big 12 in total offense behind Oklahoma.

1 Wild Prediction Kennedy Brooks will again average more than 10 yards per carry.

The redshirt freshman running back only has 38 carries this season, but he’s averaging an astounding 11.95 yards per carry. Brooks rushed for 94 yards against Kansas State on just five carries last weekend, and he could record a similar stat line against Texas Tech. Sophomore Trey Sermon is still OU’s primary option in the run game, but Brooks is the big-play back.
