OU’s Tre Brown on Bedlam: ‘We hate each other’

- RYAN ABER AND JOE MUSSATTO, STAFF WRITERS

Oklahoma sophomore cornerback Tre Brown considered Oklahoma State during the recruiting process, before committing to the Sooners, the team he grew up rooting for.

“I know growing up, I never really liked OSU. I hated OSU if you want to be real,” Brown said after Saturday’s 51-46 win over Texas Tech. “I just hated the colors. Maybe that’s why I don’t like Texas either, just seeing orange and stuff like that growing up always an Oklahoma fan.”

The Sooners and Cowboys face each other Saturday in Norman (2:30 p.m., ABC).

In last season’s Bedlam, Brown was pressed into duty after Jordan Thomas’ injury and had a late interception, though it was negated by a penalty.

Among Oklahoma’s starters from Saturday’s game, only three were from the state — Brown, fullback

Carson Meier and center Creed

Humphrey.

“We hate each other,” Brown said of Bedlam. “It’s always a grind you play out there, whatever’s going on. It’s just special because I’m from Oklahoma. This is all I grew up watching.”

Sooners up one spot to No, 6 in AP poll

Oklahoma will have to wait until Tuesday to find out if it moved up in the College Football Playoff rankings after Saturday's 51-46 win over Texas Tech, but the Sooners jumped up one spot in The Associated Press poll.

OU moved up to No. 6, jumping ahead of LSU. The Tigers dropped to No. 9 from No. 4 after their 29-0 loss to Alabama.

Alabama remains No. 1, receiving every first-place vote.
