Rural EMS providers split $1.7M in grants

The Oklahoma State Department of Health awarded more than $1.7 million to 20 emergency medical service providers around the state. The money comes from the Oklahoma Emergency Response Systems Stabilizat­ion and Improvemen­t Revolving Fund, which is funded by tobacco taxes. EMS providers can use the money for assessment­s, reorganizi­ng at-risk department­s, training and equipment. Recipients are:

• Sinor EMS, Clinton, Sayre, Hobart and Thomas; $46,015.

• Tillman County EMS, $72,010.

• Carnegie EMS, $248,040.

• Antlers Fire Department EMS, $99,789.

• Elk City Fire Department EMS, $29,162.

• EMS Success Inc., Choctaw, $98,400.

• Roger Mills County EMS, $77,062.

• Southwest Oklahoma Ambulance Authority, Hollis, $91,710.

• Major County EMS, $96,186.

• Waynoka EMS, $67,681.

• Cimarron County EMS, $99,322.

• Anadarko Fire Department, $162,522.

• Kingfisher Fire Department EMS, $99,999.

• Gordon Cooper Technology Center, Shawnee, $99,900.

• Perry Fire Department EMS, $38,263.

• Heartland Medical Direction Inc., Crescent, $79,711.

• Okmulgee County EMS, $75,590.

• Beaver County EMS, $22,752.

• Life EMS Inc., Enid, $93,405.

• Mercy Health Love County EMS, $39,995.
