Wellness group meets

The Wellness Now Coalition will hold its quarterly meeting at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 12 at the Oklahoma CityCounty Health Department, 2600 NE 63.

Cancer center accredited

Integris Cancer Institute recently was accredited by the Commission on Cancer, which is under the American College of Surgeons.

Cancer centers have to meet 34 quality standards. Accreditat­ion lasts three years.

Hospital names board

The Children’s Center Rehabilita­tion Hospital elected its 2018-2019 Teen Leadership Board. All members completed a summer program for high school students interested in working in health care.

Officers are Hannah George, Yukon High School, president; McKaelyn DeQuasie, Choctaw High School, vice president; and Joyce Tullis, Oklahoma Christian School, secretary/treasurer.

Board member reappointe­d

Tanya Case, of Duncan, was appointed to a second four-year term on the Oklahoma Health Care Authority board. The authority manages SoonerCare, Oklahoma’s Medicaid program.

She retired in 2015 as executive director of the Oklahoma Temporary High Risk Pool, and had been chair of the board of the National Associatio­n of State Comprehens­ive Health Insurance Plans.

Jewelry store donates

Kendra Scott will donate 20 percent of sales to Ronald McDonald House Charities Oklahoma City from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The jewelry store has locations at 5810 N Classen Blvd. and 1452 S Bryant in Edmond.
