• OU receiver Marquise Brown to have more tests on left leg.
The health of star receiver Marquise Brown will be one of Oklahoma's primary concerns in the monthlong lead up to the Orange Bowl.
Brown will have until Dec. 29, when No. 4-ranked Oklahoma faces No. 1 Alabama in Miami, to rehab a lower-leg injury he suffered Saturday afternoon in the Big 12 Championship game. He was carted off the sideline in the fourth quarter before returning with a boot on his left leg.
OU coach Lincoln Riley said Brown underwent preliminary tests Saturday afternoon and more on Sunday morning.
"Gonna meet with the doctors in the next couple of days and see where we're at," Riley said on the Orange Bowl teleconference. "It was certainly a significant enough injury that there was no way he was gonna be able to return in the game. The extent of that is still a little bit unknown."
Riley told ESPN earlier Sunday afternoon that he was "hopeful" to get Brown back.
Before that interview, ESPN's Rece Davis indicated Brown would be ready for the playoff.
Brown leads Oklahoma with 75 receptions for 1,318 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Joe Castiglione's obligations as a College Football Playoff committee member kept him away from OU's Big 12 Championship game Saturday.
It was the first Sooner football game Castiglione has missed since being hired as Oklahoma's athletic director in 1998.
