OU wrestling postpones Friday’s match

The Oklahoma wrestling team’s home dual South Dakota State, originally scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., has been postponed due to expected inclement weather and poor travel conditions.

The match will be reschedule­d for a later date.

Tickets for Friday's contest will be honored at the rest of the Sooners' home duals this season.

OU will travel to Stillwater, Sunday for a 12:30 p.m. clash with No. 4 Oklahoma State. The match will be televised nationally on ESPNU.

OCU's Lytle named top assistant coach

Oklahoma City University’s Keith Lytle was named the NAIA assistant coach of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Associatio­n and Baseball America.

This is the first year the ABCA expanded the assistant coach of the year awards to all college divisions and high school. The winners will be recognized Jan. 3-6 at the ABCA convention in Dallas.

Lytle has been recognized as one of the top hitting instructor­s in the nation during his 30-year tenure as Oklahoma City assistant.

Dodgers recognized as best Triple-A organizati­on

The Oklahoma City Dodgers have been named the 2018 Triple-A winner of the Bob Freitas Award, presented by Baseball America. This is the first time the Oklahoma City franchise has been named the award’s recipient since its inception in 1989.

The annual award is given to one team in each classifica­tion of Minor League Baseball. The criteria is based on community involvemen­t, long-term business success and consistent operationa­l excellence.

The award will be formally presented Dec. 10 during the 2018 Baseball Winter Meetings at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
