Three people die in Tuesday accidents

Three people died as a result of Tuesday accidents, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Wednesday.

John Thomas, 52, of Bokchito Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene of an all-terrain vehicle accident about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on private property 3 miles west of Bokchito.

Thomas was driving without a helmet when the ATV rolled going down a steep hill. Thomas was ejected from the ATV, the patrol reported.

Samuel E. Bumgarner Jr., 66, and Terry Lynn Bumgarner, 55, both of Turley

The Bumgarners died as a result of a collision in Osage County, the patrol reported.

Sam Bumgarner, a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene of a two-car collision about 1:20 p.m. Tuesday on N 20th W Avenue, just west of Sperry. Terry Bumgarner, the driver, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where she died early Wednesday, patrol reported.

Two other passengers in the car, Tiffany Anne Ladd, 28, and Charles L. Hendrix, 38, both of Turley, were taken to a Tulsa hospital where they were treated and released.

The patrol reported Terry Bumgarner failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by a pickup driven east by John G. Martin, 69, of Bartlesvil­le.

Martin was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated and released. Seat belts were in use by everyone in the vehicles.
