OKC PR firm acquires competition
Candor Public Relations will grow its footprint in Oklahoma with the acquisition of a competitor, Waddell Pointer, the company announced Wednesday.
Candor did not disclose details of the agreement in a news release, and spokeswoman Ashley Neese said the terms are confidential. Once the acquisition is complete, the combined business will serve more than 60 enterprise and government organizations throughout the country, the company said.
Waddell Pointer provides a broad spectrum of services to clients representing business and industry, health care and not-for-profit organizations. It was founded in 1989. Candor was established in 2012 and has been recognized as one of the state’s fastest-growing companies.
“I am excited to begin working on a new and challenging venture that will have an unprecedented impact on Oklahomans across the state,” said Jeaneen Pointer, principal and CEO of Waddell Pointer. “Knowing our clients will be taken care of by an outstanding firm who shares our commitment to further our clients’ interests and achieve results provides me the freedom to pursue this new chapter.”
Karen Wicker, founder and CEO of Candor, said she looks forward to working with new brands and businesses.
“Candor’s growth has always been based on finding creative ways to help organizations reach their goals and great word of mouth from people we work with,” Wicker said. “We could not pass up the opportunity expand our services.”
