Gov.-elect Kevin Stitt announces inaugural events schedule
Gov.-elect Kevin Stitt's Jan. 14 inauguration will be accompanied by several days of celebratory events, including a children's festival in Jenks and a free reception at the state Capitol, his staff announced Wednesday.
“Sarah and I are excited to invite all of Oklahoma to join us as we celebrate the beginning of Oklahoma’s turnaround,” said Stitt, who won 54 percent of the vote in the Nov. 6 general election.

Here is some basic information about the events:
Thursday, Jan. 10
Events will kick off Jan. 10 in Lawton with the Lawton Preinaugural Bison Bash.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Comanche County Fairgrounds Coliseum. Attire is business casual and the cost is $75 per person, with a two ticket maximum.
Saturday, Jan. 12
Two events are scheduled for Jan. 12 — a children's festival in Jenks and preinaugural ball in Tulsa.
The Scissortail Children's Festival will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. Dress is casual and the cost is $25 per family.
Later that night, the Preinaugural Tulsa Redbud Ball will be held at the Cox Business Center in Tulsa. The black tie event will begin at 7 p.m. and the cost is $150 per person, with a two ticket maximum.
Monday, Jan. 14
The main event, Stitt's inaugural swearing-in ceremony, will begin 11:30 a.m. Jan. 14 on the south side of the Capitol.
The oath will be administered by incoming Oklahoma Supreme Court Chief Justice Noma Gurich. Others expecting to be sworn in during the ceremony include Lt. Governor-elect Matt Pinnell, Attorney General Mike Hunter, State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister, Labor Commissioner-elect Leslie Osborn, State Auditorelect Cindy Byrd, State Treasurer-elect Randy McDaniel, Insurance Commissioner-elect Glen Mulready and Corporation Commissioner Bob Anthony.
Attire for the ceremony is business casual. The event is free to the public and there will be a free reception at the Capitol immediately following.
Later that evening, the Inaugural OKC Dinner & Ball will be held at the Cox Business Center, Renaissance Grand Ballroom in Oklahoma City.
The black tie event will begin at 7 p.m. The cost is $250 per person with a two ticket maximum.
Tuesday, Jan. 15
At 9:30 a.m. Jan. 15, there will be an inaugural prayer service at the First Baptist Church of Moore. The event will be free to the public and church attire is appropriate.
