At least one of the three victims in a triple homicide in northeast Oklahoma City Monday died of multiple gunshot wounds, but the causes of the deaths of a man and a 15-year-old girl have not been released.

Elijah Malachi Mothershed, 44, Carnesha Patrice Powell, 35, and Roshawna Stevens, 15, were found dead about 12:30 a.m. Monday in a house where neighbors said they had lived about six months at 1129 N Standish Ave.

Powell suffered multiple gunshot wounds, the medical examiner’s office reported Tuesday. The causes of death for Mothershed and Stevens had not been determined Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the office said.

Powell was Stevens’ mother and Mothershed’s girlfriend, said Capt. Bo Mathews, spokesman for the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Mothershed had recently been involved in opening a medical marijuana dispensary, Cannabis Aid, at 1612 NE 23.

A sign on the door of the dispensary Monday afternoon read, “Unfortunately, we will be closed Monday and Tuesday.”

Mothershed also had been involved in recent years with a group called M.A.N. 101, which hosted workshops and seminars at the Ralph Ellison Library to help troubled young men in the northeast Oklahoma City community.

Family members of Mothershed contacted Tuesday declined to comment.

State Rep. Jason Lowe, D-Oklahoma City, told The Oklahoman on Tuesday that Mothershed made a number of contributions to his community.

“He was a great person ... who believed in rehabilitation and not incarceration for nonviolent offenders and for people who deserved a second chance,” Lowe said.

Lowe said Mothershed was recently getting into the medical marijuana and CBD oil business.

“He was working on his business and really trying to support his family and his community,” Lowe said. “That was his goal.”

Lowe said he hopes the public will help police solve the homicides.

“We want people to call police and let them know what you know. We want to make sure they do the best job possible to find the person responsible for this,” Lowe said.

Anyone with information about the homicides can call police at 405297-1200.
