NORMAN — Oklahoma junior forward was a surprise Senior Day honoree Saturday.

Freeman, who has another year of eligibility after this season, joined OU's six departing seniors at midcourt before Oklahoma's 92-80 win against West Virginia.

Freeman's participation in the Senior Day ceremony doesn't guarantee this season will be his last at OU, coach told The Oklahoman.

"Not for sure," Kruger said. "The opportunity to go through with the other guys he came in with, that's something he wanted to do. And credit him graduating in 3 years. That's pretty good."

Freeman, set to graduate in May with a business degree, could potentially enter the graduate transfer market.

The Auckland, New Zealand, native has averaged 3.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 27 games this season. Freeman, a 34 percent 3-point shooter, has played a career-high 11.7 minutes per game.

"He's got the options at the end to make a decision as to what his role is gonna be here," Kruger said. "We'll sit down after the season's over and assess what he's interested in and what works best for him."

Senior walk-on scored OU's final two points Saturday, and no basket was more celebrated by the Sooner bench.

Geha's driving layup came with 36 seconds left in the Senior Day game. The Leawood, Kansas, native is a perfect 3 for 3 with six points in five games this season.

“Pat's everyone's favorite,” teammate said. “Going against him in practice, him being on scout team, he likes to get really competitive. Anytime he gets the chance to score we always want him to shoot. Him getting that layup is pretty special.”

Oklahoma's win against West Virginia wasn't an NCAA Tournament resume booster, but a loss would've been a resume killer.

The Sooners (18-11, 6-10 Big 12) held steady at No. 42 in the NET after the win.

OU's closing two games come against NET No. 16 Kansas and No. 28 Kansas State.

Bracket Matrix, which aggregates 105 bracket projections, slots OU as the top No. 10 seed, joining VCU, N.C. State and Texas on that seed line.

Cincinnati, Iowa, Louisville and Baylor are the projected No. 7 seeds OU could face in the first round.
