Cashion's Manning announces retirement
After 22 years and three state championships, one of the state's most prominent girls basketball coaches is retiring. Cashion coach Totsy Manning informed her team Monday that she will no longer coach high school girls basketball, but will remain on staff as the school's curriculum director. Manning took over at Cashion last year, leading the Wildcats to a Class 2A state runner-up finish. This season, the Wildcats were 16-11 and finished in the regional tournament. She won three straight state championships at Deer Creek from 2013-15 and one runner-up finish in 2017. Manning was The Oklahoman's Super 5 Coach of the Year in 2014. Manning won more than 400 career games, also coaching at Choctaw, El Reno and Binger-Oney. She was also an assistant at Del City and Westmoore.
OCA announces All-State wrestling teams
The Oklahoma Coaches Association announced its selections for the All-State wrestling teams on Tuesday. The dual will be held at Sand Springs 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24. Durant's Jim Taylor will coach the Large East team against Duncan's Bobby Cook -coached Large West squad. Craig Pruitt of Anadarko is coaching the Small West team against Wagoner's Micco Charboneau, who is leading the Small East team.
