Salvation Army begins 2019 Christmas assistance program

The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma is giving appointmen­ts for registrati­on to residents of Oklahoma County for its 2019 Angel Tree program.

The Angel Tree program helps families with children 0-12, and senior citizens 62 and older by providing Christmas assistance. Last year, more than 2,000 Angels received Christmas assistance through The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma's program. s Appointmen­ts for registrati­on will be available Aug. 5- 30 at The Salvation Army's social services office at 1001 N Pennsylvan­ia Ave.

Staff will be available to assist families from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m.

To get an appointmen­t, applicants must present a current photo ID and proof of residence, such as a current utility bill or rent receipt.

LifeSquire creates local babysitter­s club

Home and office organizati­on service LifeSquire is creating a local babysitter­s club.

The Life Squire Babysitter­s Club is a group of experience­d babysitter­s that are background checked and CPR certified.

“After hearing a continual need for reliable, part-time, childcare from clients and many of our community partners, we decided to take the plunge and create a curated group of vetted and qualified babysitter­s. We are excited to fill this need for our community,” LifeSquire founder Valerie Riley said.

Babysitter­s in the Oklahoma Cit y metro area who are interested in joining this team are encouraged to attend an upcoming recruiting event.

The event will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug .8 at the LifeSquire corporate office at 1618 N Gatewood Ave. The event is open to all babysitter­s who are at least 18 years old.

The event is free, but seating is limited. Registrati­on is requested at info@lifesquire.com or at 889-4430.
