Sanders, Warren top state fundraiser­s among Dems

U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren collected the most money in Oklahoma of the Democratic presidenti­al candidates in the second quarter, while President Donald Trump easily outpaced his potential rivals, according to Federal Election Commission reports.

Sanders, of Vermont, who won Oklahoma's Democratic primary in 2016, raised $22,543 from April 1 through June 30, bringing his total for the year in Oklahoma to $34,297.

Sanders' campaign has been organizing in Oklahoma for the March 3 primary, holding volunteer meetings in Oklahoma City and Tulsa in recent weeks. Sanders has reported over 700 donations on Oklahoma, ranging from $1 to $2,500.

Warren, of Massachuse­tts, raised $21,968 in the second quarter, bringing her total in the state to $26,107. Warren is an Oklahoma native who graduated from high school in Oklahoma City. Warren has reported 352 contributi­ons in Oklahoma, ranging from $3 to $2,800.

Pete Buttigieg, mayor of South Bend, Ind ., raised $18,843 in the second quarter in Oklahoma, pushing his total to $25,468.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, who announced his candidacy in late April, a month into the quarter, raised $11,842 in Oklahoma in his first two months of campaignin­g.

Former U.S. Rep. Be to O'Rourke, of Texas, raised $14,143 in the second quarter, raising his state total to $32,474. O'Rourke visited Oklahoma City and Tulsa in early June.

U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, of California, raised $8,465 from April 1 through June 30, pushing her Oklahoma total to $15,767.

Of the other Democratic candidates who took part in two nights of debates this week, self- help author Marianne Williamson has raised the most, $5,744. None of the rest has raised $5,000.

Trump, a Republican, raised $87,814 in the second quarter in Oklahoma, pushing his total to $218,772 for his re-election bid. Trump is not expected to have a competitiv­e primary in Oklahoma.
