University president to get Salt & Light Award
John D. Fozard will be honored at the Christian Business Men's Connection's 2019 “Salt & Light Award Dinner” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63.
The CBMC hosts the annual banquet to honor a respected Oklahoma leader whose life is the personification of the “salt and light” that Christ called believers to be. Fozard has spent a lifetime providing visionary leadership to churches, organizations, businesses and, for the last 20 years, as president of Mid-America Christian University (MACU). Under Fozard's guidance, the university has grown in both size and
reach, expanding its campus and student enrollment, offering 99 bachelor's and master's degree programs, providing all of its degrees 100% online, and by enrolling students from 42 states and from 23 countries outside the U.S.
Fozard also helped with the establishment of the Thomas School of International Studies specifically to help individuals in Central and South America to qualify for high-level leadership positions in government, education, business and ministry.
A cornerstone of Fozard's legacy at the university is the creation of two groups for students: the Iron Men and the Women of Valor.
People attending the 26th annual banquet will hear Fozard share his story. Event sponsors are Kimray, Hobby Lobby and Jasco Products.
Individual tickets are $75 per person.
