A father and daughter who testified Wednesday both identified the man accused of fatally shooting another man in an Edmond Braum's parking lot.

Anthony Adams Millan, 35, is charged with firstdegree murder in the Jan. 17, 2019, shooting death of Christian Chancey, 23. Chancey was found dead from a gunshot wound at 1301 W Interstate 35 Frontage Road near I-35 and E 15th St. in Edmond.

Kevin Gilmer, Breanna Gilmer and two others had stopped at Braum's for milk the night of the shooting.

Gilmer told jurors he was about to exit the parking lot when he “heard two sounds coming from behind me.”

Gilmer said he saw a white man lying in the parking lot and a black man with dreadlocks get in a dark blue Dodge Charger that belonged to Chancey, move it, get out and approach the victim, pick up something shiny off the ground, get into a white Nissan and drive away.

Gilmer said he decided to exit, drive south on the frontage road and re-enter the parking lot when he passed the white Nissan, which was exiting. “He would have been coming out and I was coming back in,” he said.

Breanna Gilmer's testimony mirrored that of her father.

She said she saw light reflect off whatever the man was picking up off the ground, speculating it could have been the victim's cellphone.

Both witnesses pointed to Millan and identified him as the man they saw exiting the parking lot in a white Nissan. Both said they previously identified the defendant through pictures provided by law enforcement.

Others who testified Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Judge Ray Elliott's courtroom included a couple on a date and two brothers who were working at Braum's that night. All four said they heard what sounded like gunshots, saw a white man lying in the parking lot and a black man with dreadlocks standing over him picking up something shiny from the ground near the victim. None of the four were able to identify the defendant as the man they saw the night Chancey died.

In their opening statements, attorneys said Chancey and Millan were meeting on the night of the shooting to exchange drugs.
