Cowgirls defeat Sooners in Bedlam soccer

Oklahoma State won its sixth in a row by downing Oklahoma 3-1 in women's soccer Friday night at

Neal Patterson Stadium in Stillwater.

The 13 th-ranked Cowgirls scored first on an unassisted goal from Claire Gantz then OSU made it 2-0 at halftime when

Olyvia Dowell scored on an assist from Jaci Jones.

The Cow girls added another score in the second half on Cameron Huddleston's header off a corner kick from Jones. The Sooners' only goal came when a Cowgirls' defender kicked the ball into the OSU net.

OSU improved to 13-1-3 on the season and 6-1-1 in conference play. OU fell to 8-7-3 and 3-4-1 in Big 12 play.

OSU women's golf eighth at North Carolina tourney

The Oklahoma State women's golf team is tied for eighth after Friday's opening 18 holes at The Landfall Tradition tournament in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Han-Hsuan Yu and Lianna Bailey led the Cowgirls in the first round after shooting an even par 72. Yu and Bailey are ti ed for 15th place, trailing the leader Tunrada Piddon of UCF by four strokes heading into Saturday second round.

The Cow girls were 4- over par on Fri day. Alabama and Illinois are tied for the lead at 3-under par.

Free Yoga in the Park on

Saturday

The Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon is celebratin­g the 2020 course release with Yoga in the Park and food trucks in Scissor tail Park on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is free but participan­ts are asked to bring a pair of sock to benefit Cleats for Kids, a local non-profit empowering kids through sports.

Hunting season for muzzleload­ers opens for deer, elk and bear

Oklahoma's muzzleload­ing season for deer, elk and bear opens Saturday and runs through Nov. 3.

The black bear hunting season is only open in Choctaw, Haskell, Latimer, Le Flore, McCurtain and Pushmataha counties along with portions of McIntosh, Muskogee and Sequoyah, Atoka and Bryan and Pittsburg counties.

Archery seasons for deer and elk continue through Jan. 15.
