Scouting TCU
Record: 4-3 overall, 2-2 Big 12
Best player: Receiver Jalen Reagor is one of the most potent offensive weapons in the league. TCU running back Darius Anderson has been more productive, and freshman quarterback Max Duggan's growth is the key that turns the offense. But Reagor is a big play waiting to happen. He's averaging 96.6 all-purpose yards per game, balanced mostly between receiving and punt returns. He's by far the team's top receiver with 326 yards on 25 catches with four scores, and he's averaging nearly 20 yards per punt return with one going back for a touchdown.
The case for the Horned
Frogs: It's starting to become apparent TCU isn't all that bad. The 37-27 win over Texas on Saturday certainly has the program going in the right direction, and the Frogs' four interceptions of Sam Ehlinger should make folks in Stillwater a little nervous. The defense is stout and the offense got back on track Saturday after a couple of rough weeks.
The case for the Cowboys:
More than anything, momentum is swinging up for the first time in what seems like a month. The offense was solid at Iowa State, even with the somewhat silent second half. The defense was strong at the start, and fantastic at the finish. If OSU is going to build on Saturday's win, it needs to do it now. Quarterback Spencer Sanders showed more progress in his awareness to protect the ball, and when he does that, the offense can flourish.
