Oklahoma ultrarunne­r breaks her own world record

Oklahoma native Camille Her ron won another world championsh­ip and set another world record on Sunday.

Running in the Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Ultrarunne­rs 24-Hour World Championsh­ip in Albi , France, she took the lead on the first lap of the race's 1,500-meter loop and never lost it. She ran 270.116 kilometers or 167.842 miles during the 24-hour race.

She not only won by nearly 10 miles but also shattered her own world record for distance covered by a woman in a day. Her previous 24- hour world record was 162.9 miles, set in December.

Her ron ,37, also led Team USA to gold. The top three American women combined to run 746.132 kilometers, 25.008(15.539 miles) more than second-place Poland.

Her ron, who graduated from West moore High School and Tulsa, has lived much of her adult life in the Oklahoma City area, though she now trains extensivel­y in Alamosa, Colo.

OU, Iowa State to kickoff at 7 p.m.

No .10 Oklahoma will take on Iowa State at 7 p.m. on Nov .9 in Norman. The game will be broadcast on Fox.

This will be the Sooners first home night game since playing South Dakota on Sept. 7.

OU football to meet Illinois State in 2023

Oklahoma will play Illinois State in 2023, according to Kevin Kelley of FBSchedule­s.com.

The Sooners will take on the Redbirds in Norman as part of their non-conference schedule and will pay Illinois State a $625,000 guarantee for the game, according to a contract obtained via a Freedom of Informatio­n Act request by FBSchedule­s.com

The game, set to take place on Sept. 2, 2023, will be the first ever meeting between the two schools on a football field.

OSU earns No. 3 seed in match play event

Oklahoma State' s men's golf team fired a 4- over 292 on Monday at the East Lake Cup in Atlanta to earn the No. 3 seed entering match play on Tuesday at East Lake Golf Club.

Texas took the top team spot with a 10- under 278. OSU takes on No. 2- seeded Wake Forest in one semi final on Tuesday while Texas and Vanderbilt will clash in the other.

OU cancels baseballso­ftball Halloween game

Due to the forecast of in clement weather on Wednesday, the annual Oklahoma baseball-softball Halloween Game will not be played.

Fans planning to attend BOOmer Fest will need a ticket to the volleyball match, and those wearing a Halloween costume can buy a discounted ticket at the door for $5.

UCO women's soccer program earns national praise

The University of Central Oklahoma soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches inaugural Team Pinnacle Award, landing the Bronchos in the top two percent of women's soccer programs in the country.

Central Oklahoma' s 2018 team was recognized for their sportsmans­hip, academics, and its success on the field. The Bronchos are one of three Division II schools to be honored and one of only 17 NCAA women's soccer teams to be recognized with the new distinctio­n.
