Report: Safety Turner-Yell suffers broken collarbone

NORMAN — According to multiple reports, Oklahoma safety Delarrin Turner-Yell recently suffered a broken collarbone and will miss the Peach Bowl against LSU (3 p.m. Dec. 28).

The news was first reported by TheFootbal­lBrainiacs. com.

Turner-Yell has been one of t he biggest pieces i n a much- i mproved Sooners defense. He's second on the team with tackles with 75. He has 5.5 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, a quarterbac­k hurry and a forced fumble.

Def e n s i v e c o o r d i n a t o r Alex Gri nch has s a i d f or most of the year that he was unhappy with his depth at the position.

With Turner-Yell injured, t h a t o p e n s t h e d o o r f o r another sophomore — Justin Broiles — to move into the starting lineup.

Broiles has played in all 13 games this season with 15 tackles.

Lamb a consensus All-American

CeeDee Lamb is a consensus All-American.

The junior wide receiver was named a first team AllAmerica­n b y t h e Walter Camp Football Foundation, A s s o c i a t e d P r e s s , T h e Sporting News and Football Writers of America.

He i s Oklahoma's 82nd c onsensus Al l - American a n d t h e s i x t h S o o n e r t o r e c e i v e t h e d i s t i n c t i o n i n t he l ast f our years. Lamb caught 58 passes f o r 1 , 2 0 8 y a r d s a n d 1 4 t ouchdowns t hi s s eason. He was also a finalist for the Biletnikof­f Award, given to the best receiver in college football.

Radley-Hiles wins J.D. Runnels Media Cooperatio­n Award

Sophomore ni c k e l ba c k Brendan “Bookie” RadleyHile­s is the 2019 winner of the sixth annual J.D. Runnels Media Cooperatio­n Award, voted on by beat writers who regularly cover Oklahoma football.

While Radley-Hiles wasn't the most interviewe­d player on the team, he consistent­ly was thoughtful and patient with his answers — even when things weren't going well.

“Regardl e s s of how he played, I'm proud of how he stood tall to the media after any performanc­e,” Runnels said. “That's what this i s a war d i s a b o u t . Col l e g e football throws adversity at you, especially at nickel. I'm thankful he chose OU and wishing nonstop success.”

Radley-Hiles joins previous winners Zack Sanchez (2014), Eric Striker (2015), Baker Mayfield ( 2016- 17) and Curtis Bolton (2018) in winning the award.

Runnels, who played fullback for the Sooners from 2 0 0 2 - 0 5 , ma i n t a i n e d a strong relationsh­ip with the media during his playing career and since.

Humphrey adds FWAA All-American honors

Creed Humphrey picked up another All- American honor.

The redshirt sophomore center was named t o t he Football Writers Associatio­n of America's second team A l l - A m e r i c a n l i s t o n Thursday. Lamb was named a first team selection for the FWAA earlier in the day.

This is Humphrey's fourth All - American honor t hi s season, as he's also been the Associated Press, Sporting News a n d Walt e r Camp Football Foundation second teams. Humphrey was also t h e Co- Bi g 1 2 Off e ns i v e Li neman of t he Year, a n All-Big 12 first team select i o n a n d f i n a l i s t f o r t h e Rimington Trophy.

Humphrey h a s s t a r t e d 25 games for Oklahoma at center.
