Metro Technology Center has moved its downtown campus from BancFirst, which is undergoing a renovation, to Corporate Tower, where it occupies 20,222 square feet.

The move from the third floor of BancFirst Tower to 101 N Robinson Ave. also includes 2,479 square feet of space on the ground floor, giving the campus more visibility from the street. Cindy Friedemann, Executive Officer, District Strategy and Economic Development at Metro Tech, said the new campus will offer a wider scope and greater depth of training programs, as well as more expertise on site as the campus will be home to Metro Tech's entire economic and workforce development team.

She said the large efficient footprint and new first-floor space also will allow the downtown campus to host larger groups and provide easy access for busy clients.

“We have had great success in our 10 years downtown, and reached a tipping point at our former location,” Friedemann said. “We plan to add new educational products to stem additional growth in the decade to come.”

Metro Technology Centers, started in 1979, is a career and technology center with four campuses in Oklahoma City. The growth of Metro Tech's downtown branch coincides with a continued diversification of the downtown workforce with the addition of technology, design and creative firms.
