Foundation gives memorial $500K matching grant

The Kirk patrick Family Foundation is tea ming up with the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation to help preserve and improve the memorial and museum for future generation­s.

The Kirk patrick Family Fund announced on Monday a $500,000 matching grant to support the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation' s 25 th Anniversar­y Looking Back, Thinking Forward campaign.

The dollar-fordollar challenge grant will match $500,000 in donations made to support the organizati­on's endowment, for a total of a $1 million in potential donations.

“We appreciate Christian Keesee and the Kirkpatric­k Family Fund f or continuing their legacy of giving for decades ,” said Bob Ross, Chairman of the Oklahoma City National Memorial Foundation. “Thanks to their generous commitment, the memorial and museum is positioned to leave a lasting inspiratio­nal and educationa­l impact on every person who visits.”

The Oklahoma City National Memorial &Museum receives no annual funds from federal, state, or local government­s.

The memorial a nd museum runs entirely on donations.

The partnershi­p with Kilpatrick is just part of t he memorial and museum's $14 million capital/endowment campaign.

“No institutio­n is more perfectly positioned to help others discover strength in brokenness, courage in grief, and resolve in pain,” said Keesee, president of the Kirk patrick Family Fund. “Today, we stand at a turning point. Our hope for this gift is to continue the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum's trajectory as a premier memorial, museum an de ducation al institutio­n for tomorrow' s visitors.”
