Texas game moved to Friday after Thanksgiving
Cowboys add junior-college linebacker
STILLWATER — The Oklahoma State football team's regular- season finale will be a Friday game.
The Big 12 announced that two games on the final weekend of the regular season have been moved to Friday, Nov. 27, which is the day after Thanksgiving.
One of those games was OSU vs. Texas at Boone Pickens Stadium, along with West Virginia at Iowa State. Both games were initially scheduled for Nov. 28.
The OSU-Texas game could be significant in the race for the Big 12 championship game, which is set for Dec. 5 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Both OSU and Texas already have garnered significant preseason attention, based on the key players each team has returning, including OSU running back Chuba Hubbard and Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
Kickoff time for the game will be announced in mid-November, though the television networks are required to submit their selections for the first three weeks of the season and all non- Saturday games to the Big 12 office by June 1.
Oklahoma State's 2020 recruiting class got a boost with the announcement from Iowa Central Community College linebacker Lamont Bishop on Wednesday.
Bishop is the fourth linebacker and the 22nd player overall in the class. A 6-foot-3, 225-pound middle linebacker, Bishop could provide immediate help in the backup spot vacated by Kevin Henry, who transferred to Tulane for his final season of college football.
OSU returns both starting linebackers, Amen Ogbongbemiga and Malcolm Rodriguez, but is thin at the middle spot behind Ogbongbemiga.
Bishop suffered a torn ACL in early October, but should be relatively healthy by the time he arrives in Stillwater in June. He played in only five games last season, finishing with 39 tackles (7.8 per game), five for loss, a sack, an interception and two pass breakups.
OSU has three spots left in its 2020 class. Bishop can sign his letter of intent next Wednesday.
