Rylee Langerman leads CHA past Southwest Covenant

Rylee Langerman stole the ball and scored over a defender on the other end of the floor. On the ensuing play, she blocked the Patriots' shot just before the first quarter buzzer sounded. The play capped off a 17-point first quarter by Langerman.

“She's our go-to,” said Christian Heritage coach Lisa Little Jim .“Every night she brings the same intensity. She's why we get wide open s hots at times. She really makes us go.”

With a 30- point performanc­e, L an german led Christian Heritage Academy over Southwest Covenant ,60-36, Friday night at Jim Elliot Memorial Gymnasium.

“We did a good job of moving t he ball , especially in the first half, and we were knocking shots down, which is not what we did on Tuesday night so this was a big improvemen­t,” LittleJim said.

As a team, Christian Heritage knocked down 13 3-pointers and forced 25 turnovers to bounce back from Tuesday night's loss to Luther. No. 8 Christian Heritage improved their record to 12-6.

Del City 50, Shawnee 33

Del City was desperate for a win. The Eagles were frustrated as they entered Friday's matchup at Shawnee on a threegame losing streak.

Del City bounced back from its recent slump and got a much-needed confidence boost, defeating Shawnee 50-33.

The Class 5 A No. 12-ranked Eagles dominated the game, leading 19-6 as they entered the

second quarter. They continued to build their lead before pulling away for the win.

“We set the tone early by playing good defense, getting what we wanted to get, getting in the passing lanes,” Del City coach Mariah Webb said.

BB Polk and AJ Smithers each had 16 points for the Eagles, who improved to 8-8. With the loss, No. 13 Shawnee fell to 7-9.

Crossings Christian 43, Oklahoma Christian School 26

Ashlyn Darter drove the lane and rose for a layup.

Crossings Christian's senior guard was fouled,

but it didn't affect her. She finished the layup and gave a fist pump before high-f iv in ga couple teammates.

Darter led the Knights to a 43-26 win against Oklahoma Christian School on Friday. She led all scorers with 16 points and was a menace defensivel­y. Camden Furnish added 10 points.

CCS ( 1 1 - 8) benefited from a flurry of OCS turnovers, capitalizi­ng with fast-break points.

Hannah V ask uh ll ed OCS (1-15) with eight points.
