Shelter-in-place rules are being r el axed, but kindness is not taking a vacation.

On Tuesday, frontline workers who have been protecting the community during the COVID-19 pandemic were treated to a free lunch sponsored by Constellation Brands, Capital Distributing and Modelo Fighting Spirit.

There was even a special guest in attendance.

Former University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops was on hand to greet first responders as La Luna Taco Truck served fajita tacos at the Oklahoma City Fraternal Order of Police (OKC FOP) lodge in Oklahoma City.

Law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMSA workers and health care heroes were invited to swing by for the complimentary meal.

“The members of the OKC FOP, as well as our partners in many other agencies, willingly make sacrifices for our neighbors each and every day,” said Mark Nelson, OKC FOP vice president. “The last few weeks have been challenging, and it means a great deal when the business community takes the time to say thanks.”

St oops said he was there to help honor the first responders protecting the community during the pandemic.

“Really appreciate Constellation Brands for putting this on,” Stoops said. “It's been fun meeting all these guys.”

“And I have kept my distance.”
