Westmoore soccer coach Robert Williams quickly realized Kylee Munson needed to be on the field.

Even as a freshman in 2017, Munson' s composure and technical skills were off the charts.

“She was astarte rand one of our top players from Munson the moment

she stepped on,” Williams said. “It was just a matter of where we used her.”

Munson, an Oklahoma State signee, starred for Westmoore the past three years and was poised for another big season before it was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Munson's senior season was cut short, but she has fond memories of her career with the Jaguars.

Munson had been a defender when she arrived at Westmoore but started as a midfielder during her freshman and sophomore seasons. She had 14 goals and eight assists during her first two years at the school.

“It was kind of difficult doing the transition and seeing the field from a different perspective,” Munson said. “But I was very proud of getting as many goals as I did and as many assists. I felt I helped the team out in a way that I couldn't have before.”

The 5- foot -9 Munson switched back to her old position last year.

The Jaguars had a talented team and headed into the season with two main objectives.

“Don't let any more than 10 goals during the season, and we wanted to try to score 40 goals,” Munson said.

Westmoore accomplished both of those things, allowing just eight goals and scoring 50. The Jaguars advanced past the first round of the playoffs for the first time in Munson' s career. They claimed the District 6A-1 title

and a conference championship before losing to Norman North on penalty kick sin the state quarterfinals.

Munson, a team captain the last two years, is proud of her accomplishments at

Westmoore. She is looking forward to playing at the next level.

“She' s always been a real steady player ,” Williams said .“Not flashy, just steady. She gets the job done.”
